Ears!

We got a box from Grandpa Joel and Grandma Kris on Tuesday. They gave Evey a bunch of really cute Disney outfits. All of them were 9mo+ so it will be a bit before she can wear them, but still super cute stuff I'm real excited to put her in. Also in that box where these....

Ears!

Evey now has her first official pair of Mickey Mouse Ears! She got them when she went to Walt Disney World with us in Nov. But Grandma and grandpa wanted to get her name embroidered on the back. So we left the ears with them to get that done. Now we have them and she doesn't mind wearing them. She is my little Mousketeer! (the red t-shirt is from grandpa. He had to have it when we saw it in Company D. It was also the last one, so that helped!)

Pooh....Poooooooh!

So this one has no pictures, sorry! And for good reason too!

Since Evey was about 5 months we have been putting her on her little pink potty. She has gone pee pee in it many times and seems to be a pro at it. Well...........on Friday morning she woke up at 6:45am. (yeah, mom is tired from that still!) I fed her then decided to put her on her potty. She did her pee pee, then she did a little grunt and "POOP!" SHE POOPED ON THE POTTY! I had to call daddy out cause she never has done this before and I wasn't sure how clean up would be. It was a breeze! So much easier than cleaning up a poopy diaper! Wow! That was so amazing! We both couldn't believe it! So we go about our day. That afternoon, while daddy of making lunch, I fed her and then put her on the potty again. And again, like a pro, she pee pee'd. She was so content that I let her sit there and hit her rings on the front of the potty for a bit. (she likes to bang things now too!) Then she grunted again..........POOP! SHE POOPED FOR THE SECOND TIME ON THE POTTY IN ONE DAY! It was no fluke the first time. She can do it! I am so incredibly proud of my little girl! We got one more good pee pee from her that day, so I'd have to say that Friday was the best potty day she has had to date. (I try to put her on the potty as much as possible but its hard sometimes when I get busy.) Mike and I have decided that we are determined to have Evey potty trained by 18 months. We'll see if we can do it....I'm sure we can though! Evey is a smart little girl! GO EVEY!!

WSUV

Since it has been so absolutely beautiful outside the past few days, Mike and I decided we needed to get out of the house with Evey. We wanted to go to a park at first, then Mike suggested that we go to WSUV campus. Perfect! It is so pretty up there and being a wednesday, not that busy with students. Evey totally enjoyed being in her stroller without the carseat.

We first hiked up the hill to get a good view of campus and the mountains. This is the most beautiful campus I have seen! I really love it! Its these kind of views I wish I could get from the house I buy.

Then we walked all the way down to the entrance sign. Its actually quite the hike! You kinda have to weave around the campus alittle to get to the path that goes down there. We gave Evey her rings (favorite toy) to help keep her occupied. She loved it. She'd look around and eat/play with her rings. Then squeal in delight. So cute!

On the way back to the car, she kept looking up and back to make sure we were still there I guess. She's only been in her stroller like this one other time. She's so cute! I can't say it enough!

We had a fun day together. And I'm sure we will do it again since the weather has still been so nice!

Toes!

Evey's new thing is to grab her toes. I wasn't sure she would ever do it and she has! it is sooo cute! she has always liked to grab at her pants/knee's and pull her knees up, but she actually gets her toes now! she doesn't eat them but I'm loving it! She'll pull her knees up, look down and you can totally see the "oh! my toes!" look on her face. Then she goes for them. I love my baby girl! She is the best!

Card Collage

While cleaning up and going through my tons of "stuff", I came across a box of cards. When I started to look through them, I realized that they were the cards from Mike and I's wedding! How fun! It was really neat to go back through them and read some of the things that people wrote to us. I decided then that I couldn't just throw them out...(since they were just taking up space and I haven't looked at them in years!)...I would make a big collage of all the cards frame them and hang it on the wall as art! Now that I can keep! I have a big poster board frame and tryed putting some of the cards in it, but I have more than I thought I did and they dont all fit. So I will have to get another frame to put them in. I figure that works, I can get a matching pair of frames...and have a set of semi-matching art pieces! I'm so crafty sometimes! I love it!

Tungsten!

My Valentine's Day gift from Mike was a pretty Tungsten ring. Its so nice and not scratchy of Evey or Mike! That was one really big reason for getting it....my wedding ring was very pointy and would scratch Mike and Evey sometimes. So we started looking at plain band rings. Those suckers are not cheap...and they don't have diamonds! crazy! We looked at some Tungsten rings that were just plain old plain and expensive. Then finally we looked at the Tungsten rings on Amazon.com.Yes! Now these were pretty and prices we can handle! After 2 days of browsing thru the bazillions of tungsten options, I narrowed it down to two. Then to the one we ultimately got:
8MM High Polish Tungsten Carbide Ring with Celtic Design Sizes 7 to 13
I absolutely love it! I thought it was going to be really silver but its the exact dark tone that I wanted. This sucker is heavy too! I think its a mens ring cause its 8mm but my wedding set was 7mm so not to bad. I'm sooo glad we got it before valentines day. Ordered it on the 11th got it on the 13th. Sweet! Hehe, now I want one of the womens rings! Tungsten rocks!!

Got You!

we went and played with Norah and her mommy Lynnette today. it was soooo much fun! Now that Norah is a pro at sitting up on her own like Evey, it was an all out grabbing match! Evey would grab her/Norah's toes and Norah would grab at Evey's hair. Then Norah would lean down and grab at toes and Evey would grab at Norah's hair! They LOVED to touch each others faces too! it was so funny!

Evey got to try out Norah's jumperoo. Lets just say we are looking into getting one now. she loved it! Jump, jump, jump...she got the hang of it really quick!

After being there a few hours, Norah's cousins Isabelle and Kaylee came over to join the fun! Here is a pic of the three August babies. (they were all born in August of 2009) In order from oldest to youngest it goes: Evey, Isabelle, Norah. All three were grabbing at each other when we put them on the floor. Norah kept trying to get Evey's passy from her and got it out of her mouth a few times. it was really funny.

"My passy? Let me get that from you ok?"

This is one with all the wee-ones. Kaylee is the one in red and Isabelle is the one in the purple strips. Evey and Norah kept grabbing at each other. Like I said, they liked faces. hehe!

All these kiddo's are so cute! Its soooo funny to watch them play and learn! Its also really neat to see how different each one is developing. Its true that no two babies develop exactly the same!

Time for a change?

Do you ever feel like you need a change in life? I sure do right now. I'm ready to move on with my life...as in a change of scene. I love how Mike and I have moved around the downstairs. Love it love it! My new kick is keeping it clean since we just cleaned it all and painted. (its working so far!) I just wish that it was not my in-laws basement. Dont get me wrong, I am eternally grateful to them for letting us live with them as long as we have! I want to get my very own home. I'm so excited that Mike is almost done with school. He's in his last semester of classes and will finish up his thesis over the summer. (hoping!) I'm praying that he finds a job quickly, although with the economy the way it is...i'm praying really hard. Then we'll finally get that much needed change! regardless of where the job is. Our deal was as long as Mike was in school, we'd live with his parents to help us save. So when he is done we are finally going to move! yay! *fingers crossed its OUT of Vancouver!* ok, i'm done ranting for now. *sigh*

Here we go again!

Evey Got to go play today with her friend Lucy. She had a really fun time! Like the playday with Norah, both girls stared at each other at first.

Then they both started talking. And talking and talking and talking! They both liked to play with the same toys and shared them well I think.

Lucy was laying on her blanket at one point and Evey was clear across the room, and both girls were talking/screeching. It was really cute!
(Evey before she took off scooting and rolling)

Evey got to try out her sippy cup today too! She wasnt sure about the water in it, but did drink some of it. Till this point she has not had any water straight, so it was new for her. She did really well. I think she'll have it down in no time!

I think both girls had fun! I had fun too getting to know Lucy and her mommy better too. Since they go to church with us, this is really nice.

Princess's!

We got to go play on thursday with my good friend from The Disney Store Becky. It was good to get out and do "grown up" stuff. Ok, it was really just playing around town and no daddy with us. It was a fun day though! Becky gave Evey a set of all the Disney princess barbie dolls and their prince's! That was super nice! She got 7 princess' (there were 8 but i already had one at home so we didn't get that one) and 5 princes. So Evey has a complete set (of those that they currently sell at the Disney Store)...that she can't play with till she's older but mommy will sure enjoy till then!! We love Becky! She is sooo super sweet!

Above is when I first set her down in front of them.

I think she likes them!

Yep, I asked her and this is what I got....A Big Grin!!

To begin our adventure of the day, we first we decided that it was off to the Clackamas Mall to scope out what kind of special presale offers that stores where offering for New Moon (comes out March 20th!!!) But before we made it to the mall we both had a dounut craving. So we made a Krispy Kreme pit stop. Yum! With so many yummy options, we couldn't decide, sooooo, we got the two dozen. now we have plenty to satisfy the hunger! Hehe! Alright, now that that was taken care of, off to the mall. But on the way there we passed Deseret Industries. Well I have not been to the DI before so we had to make a stop. Oh my gosh that place is so fun! It was so nice and organized with everything all neat. Every hanger was a metal one so all the cloths looked uniform. I happened to just "glance" at the infant girl cloths....oh yeah, I found a beautiful green spring dress for...get this...$2! it would have been $4.99 at goodwill! (I'll put a pic up of Evey wearing it soon!) Then i peeked at one of the big round racks of girl cloths cause I was trying to limit myself from digging too much....*sigh* I found a pink onesie that said "you can call me princess" for.....$1! amazing! Their pricing is awesome! I had to stop after that cause I know I could have spent more, but i didn't want to without daddy there to help find some cute stuff. (daddy has an amazing ability to find the really cute cloths for both Evey and Mommy. I'm so lucky!) Evey enjoyed the whole time in her Baby Bjorn facing out seeing all the fun things. Ok now that all the side trips where done, we made it to the mall. Of course we had to visit the Disney Store. Super cute new things have come in. I thought i would miss it by being/going in, but I surprisingly didn't. Not one bit did i miss it. Now it the store where still in Vancouver, maybe i would have, but drive and the small store...nope, no missing at all. Then we walked around checking out all the stores that were going to pre-sale New Moon. I'm still not sure where or if I'm going to pre-order it. I know i with most absolutely buy the movie...no question. I'm just not sure if i really need all the fun stuff that may come with the pre-order. i didn't get any for Twilight. Evey again liked being in her carrier. i thought she was going to tank on me cause it was close to nap time so i had her face me, but she stayed awake the entire time...except on the walk back out to the car. it was raining so i wrapped her in her blanket and Becky gave her her jacket to wrap around her as well. that knocked her out! she really does like her blankeys! We drove home and then Evey and I went home. All in all, it was a really fun day!

Fruit and spoons

Today my big girl had her 6 month appt. It went well, she is doing wonderfully...did i expect anything less?? i think not! she also got 4 shots. yucky! i think she knew they were coming too cause when i laid her down on the table she got fussy and started to cry. But it looks like this set of shots hasn't affected her like the 4 month ones did. I like that!

Today Evey also got to try pears! She is still getting used to them and made lots of funny faces eating them. i think that more made it in her mouth than on her! yay! She likes her spoon! We gave her rice cereal to her by spoon, again it went well, so much so...she didn't want her night night bottle! she kept trying to eat it like it was a spoon! It took some persuasion, but she finally did take it.

6 months

I can't believe it! My baby girl is 6 months already!! where has the time gone! She is soooo much fun now and only getting more fun! Lets see....she can:
  • sit on her own.
  • rock and pivot while lying on her stomach.
  • roll from her back onto her stomach–and back again.
  • gets her hands under her and pushes backwards.
  • has more than doubled her birth weight.
  • holds up her bottle (most of the time)
  • She can say Blah.
  • gets unhappy when an object (paper) or toy is taken away.
  • She can pass objects from one hand to another.
  • She loves to look at herself in the mirror, and sometimes has conversations
  • can reach accurately for an object.
  • can grasp a rattle and pound it on the floor.
  • squeals with delight and loves to smile.
  • sometimes mimics sounds I make.
  • She turns towards the source of a sound or voice. (usually with a smile)
  • gets attention by babbling and screeching LOUDLY!
  • know's what certain words are, like "up" and outstretches her arms
  • gets to her knees (sometimes and for short amounts of time)

The more interactive and mobile she gets the more fun it becomes! I can't wait to see how much more she learns and grows this next month! Happy 6 months Miss Evelyn!!
